Devastating fire destroy's secondary school dorm & solar panels

There was a devastating fire on 5th August that tragically destroyed much of the secondary school girls dorm. Thankfully no one was injured and all of the secondary school girls have had to return home. In addition to the building loos the recently installed solar panels were also destroyed and the school relied on these for its electricity and also to power the borehole pumps for clean water.

It has been a very distressing and worrying time for all involved and we are trying to rally around and help raise much need funds to help with repairs and reinstate power sources with new panels. Right now some of the secondary classes have managed to come back on a day basis and primary continues. With surging prices and unreliable electricity the solar panels provided clean efficient power for the borehole that provides the entire school with clean water.

We have started a fundraiser, so please help with what you can and share with your colleagues/networks and friends. https://www.globalgiving.org/fundraisers/39497/
